The 10 worst Dating mistakes even smart women make

I thought things were going great. Why did he disappear?

Why didn’t he call? I thought we had the most romantic night.

Where is he? He used to text and call me all the time.

Why do I always end up with the losers?

Did I do something wrong?

Unfortunately, the answer to the last question is YES. You did something wrong. But it’s not your fault.

Marriage & Babies: Again, you have to let him lead. Just because you’re dating for a month now, doesn’t mean that you have to start talking about how your children will look. It is probably the biggest problem right now in the dating world. Guys don’t like feeling pressured. Hitting or directly talking about your fantasy wedding day and the fact that you want 3 or 4 children is not recommended before you take a serious step together and he’s the one initiating the talk.

Grabbing the Past: Whatever you do, avoid talking about your ex-boyfriend. In fact, do not talk about your exes at all, unless he specifically asks about them (he probably won’t). Guys want to be excited about a new relationship, instead of feeling they’ll have to “clean up the mess” from your past relationships. Plus, talking about your ex will make you guy realize that this is how you’ll talk about him too if you break up.

Being too available: No, we’re not suggesting you play games, but we are telling you to indulge your passions and resist the urge to abandon your social circle every time your man sends an invitation. Remember, the more you engage in and enjoy your life, the more he’ll work to be a part of it.

Underestimating your own value: There are many women out there who tend to be attracted to unavailable guys or bad boys. These guys usually tell the women upfront who they are and are not. But for some strange reason, these things only seem to make the man more attractive in the woman’s eyes. People, in general, tend to have an obsession with things they can’t have, but we should draw the line when it comes to dating.

Attempting to change your man versus learning to accept him: No, we are not saying to take him being a loser, liar or cheater. What we mean is to embrace the differences that exist. If comfy/cozy is more his style, don’t try to force him to wear a suit every time you guys go out to dinner. It’s ridiculous. If he prefers to eat the steak before the salad, don’t annoy him about proper dinner etiquette. Remember, you fell for him just the way he is.

Failure to appreciate what a man does for you: There are some extremely self-centred women out there who seemingly believe they are “owed” something. They don’t know how to appreciate men who actually try to do the best they can, but if the man can’t provide all of their wants, it’s a wrap!

Creating unnecessary drama instead of timeless memories: We have heard so many stories where a girlfriend started drama just because she noticed his man liked a random girl’s picture on his Instagram or he just looked at some random girls on the bar. Why waste your time arguing with him about a social media post versus quality time? Men literally hate such dramas.

Not mutually building trust together: If a man wants to be with a woman for the long haul, he must trust her. This may be a double standard, but guys don’t trust as quickly as women. It takes a while to do build our trust, and if you break it, you might as well end the relationship right then and there. Work on making faith without going through cell phones, social media stalking or being paranoid that he is going to cheat on you. If you don’t trust him, simply don’t be with him.

Underestimating yourself: The way you think about yourself is the way others will think of you. If you put yourself down, focus on your flaws and your past mistakes, that’s how he will see you. You don’t have to pretend to be someone other than yourself. Just avoid the negative self-talk,  like “why would anyone want to date me,” or “No wonder my ex-boyfriend dumped me.” Try to apologizing frequently and exhibiting self-doubting behaviour. Don’t look for constant feedback from him. Just accept compliments happily.
