How soon is too soon to sleep with someone?

You are dating someone, and you like them, but are you struggling with the thought of when is the right time to sleep with them?

Let us travel back in time. Gone are the days when men continuously seduce women with their sexual effort. Because they knew well that women needed to feel loved to want sex, unlike male. Love and trust go hand in hand before couples would take a step ahead in a relationship. However, that time is gone now.

Welcome to the new world where no strings attached relations do exist. We’re the hook-up and break-up generation.

Guess what!

It’s a time where if you choose to wait to sleep together, that’s amazing! If you choose to have sex right away, that’s also amazing too!

If you are a person looking for more than just a fling, regardless of age or experience, it is a good idea to develop a set of dating rules before going out on the big day. So when should you sleep with your partner? A one-size-fits-all answer does not exist. There’s no proper timeline for this stuff: If you research, there was no rule book deciding how soon you should or shouldn’t sleep with someone. As such, you’re not doing anything wrong by sleeping with your partner on the first date or by waiting until you get married. However, make sure to consider some point to before having sex with your partner.

Know your boundaries: Know your limits before you start dating. Not just physical limitations but also emotional boundaries. Emotional wholeness is essential when deciding whether or not to be intimate. Think about your sexual boundaries before your big day.

Be aware of the risks and possibilities of STD: A healthy dose of fear is a good thing. It will give you pause to consider whether or not to take the sexual activity to the next level. You should concern about STD and unwanted pregnancies. If you’re not prepared to take the necessary precaution, this is a big sign of non-readiness to have sex.

Determine what you would like in a life partner: It’s a big help if you can determine what you need in a life partner, you must-have and your deal-breakers, and make sure your guy has them and vice-versa. If your core values are satisfied and both of you want to commit to each other then having sex can be very fulfilling.

Make sure you will not have sex out of obligation: Just because a person buys you dinner and spends money on you doesn’t mean that you must sleep with them. Build strong relation that you will not feel sorry to have sex with your date no matter how sweet or beautiful they seem. Take some time at least a few meetings to know them better.

You don’t lose your self-respect just because you slept with someone: If you hate yourself a little because you ate so much pizza that you now have no room for dessert, we get it. However, don’t let your self-esteem fly out the window over the fact that you hooked up with someone, no matter how early it happened. Your sex life doesn’t determine your worth, and you should never convince yourself otherwise.

If you wanted it, it wasn’t too soon: If you weren’t all about it or just did it because your partner pleaded, then okay, maybe it was a little too early. However, if it was a mutual decision, then this was the right time to do it. Sex is supposed to be enjoyable, and if you did it because you wanted to enjoy it, you did it right.

Having sex after the commitment is the best way to build a long-lasting relationship. Remember, it’s an independent decision which only you can make.
