Welcome to the year 2020!
The year 2020 has only just begun, and the world has already suffered many disasters, tragedies, conflicts, and a new virus. Let’s see what the world has seen in a single month.
The United States Killing of Iran’s Soleimani
On Jan. 3, a U.S. airstrike outside Baghdad, Iraq, killed several Iraqi and Iranian military officials. One of them was the second-most important leader in Iran, Gen. Qassem Soleimani. Australia’s Deadly Bushfires
Australia is no stranger to wildfires, but this season has been unprecedented in scale and intensity – and the summer is far from over. Australia’s deadly fires have been fuelled by a combination of extreme heat, prolonged drought, and strong winds. The country is in the grip of a heatwave, with record-breaking temperatures over the last three months. In mid-December, the nation saw the hottest day in history – the average temperature was 41.9 degrees Celsius. The crisis engulfing the country was called “an ecological disaster” that threatens several species, including koalas and rock wallabies. Images of burned kangaroos, koalas and possums, along with footage of people risking their lives to save native animals, have gone viral around the world.

A new viral illness being witnessed by the world, which killed nearly 1000 people, mostly from China. The virus is thought to have originated in the Chinese seafood market that sold wild animals as well. Those who have fallen ill are reported to suffer coughs, fever, and breathing difficulties. In severe cases, there can be organ failure. As this is viral pneumonia, antibiotics are of no use. The antiviral drugs we have against the flu will not work.
In the face of the new deadly coronavirus, many countries have ramped up defences against the contagion, sealing borders, shutting public places, and clamping down on visitors from China. As per some reports, this virus is human-made, and what could be worse than that?

Taal Volcano, the second-most active volcano in the Philippines, near the capital of Manila, began erupting on Jan. 12, crushing scores of homes and killing livestock and crops. The explosive eruption forced over 135,000 people into shelters over fears of a massive blast.
Turkey Earthquake
On Jan. 24, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake caused 41 deaths in Turkey’s Elazığ province, located about 550 kilometers east of Ankara, and its neighbour, Malatya province. More than 1,600 others were hurt, including 86 still being treated in hospitals. Forty-five people had been rescued from under destroyed buildings.
Flood-hit Indonesia
Torrential rain has caused flash floods killing at least 83 people in large parts of Indonesia’s capital and nearby towns. January saw the capital city’s deadliest flooding in years. Nearly 30,000 Jakarta’s people had been evacuated to temporary shelters throughout the city. The floods also caused the temporary closure of the runway at Jakarta’s domestic Halim airport, with flights redirected to the capital’s bigger Soekarno airport.
On Jan. 26, NBA legend Kobe Bryant died in a shocking helicopter crash near Los Angeles. Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter, Gianna Maria-Onore Bryant, was also among the victims killed in the crash. The death of Bryant, a five-time NBA champion for the L.A. Lakers and double Olympic gold medallist, has shocked the world. An investigation into the crash that killed all nine people on board is ongoing.
2020, has been nothing but sacrifice since we are in a war for our souls. We are in a war for our standard of living, and we are in a war for our life. Everything that is happening is so deep and so hurtful. But if you read the Bible, it says things that are coming are coming to pass.
With eleven months to go, God only knows what we gonna face!
Are we ready?
Are we close to the end of the world?
Don’t you think these are the signs?
