Recovered Coronavirus Patients Have Tested Positive Again!

There are nearly 90,600 coronavirus cases globally.

he coronavirus has been detected in around 60 countries.

About 14% of patients who recovered from the novel coronavirus and were discharged from hospitals in southern China province were tested positive again in second check-ups. A positive test suggests the recovered patients may still carry the virus, adding complexity to efforts to control the outbreak.

As per the national data, there are 90,800 confirmed cases and 2870 deaths. The recovered are around 32,000, or we can say 30%. Out of over 47,000 hospitalized patients, about 22% are in serious condition.

There’ s no clear reason on why it happens and whether such patients could still be infectious or not. According to the preliminary assessment, experts believed the patients are still recovering from lung infections and have yet to be fully healthy. Health authorities in the southern island province of Hainan also confirmed that some recovered patients had tested positive again.

As per the recent guidelines for the Covid-19 issued by the National Health Commission, patients can be considered recovered and released from the hospital when their throat or nose swabs show up negative in two consecutive tests, with a CT scan indicating no lung lesions, and when they have no symptoms such as fever. The guidelines suggest recovered patients should monitor their health and limit outdoor activities for two weeks after leaving the hospital and check-in for retesting in the following weeks.

The situation is very similar in Japan

A woman working as a tour guide in Japan tested positive for the coronavirus a second time after recovery. The Osaka resident, in her forties, first tested positive in late January after leading a tour that included visitors from China’s Wuhan, the outbreak epicenter. She was discharged from the hospital after recovering on 1st February. This Wednesday, she tested positive again after developing a throat and chest pain. This one is Japan’s first case in which a person tested positive for a second time. The total number of cases in the country rose to around 190.

n any situation, this aspect makes control over this horrible coronavirus outbreak more complicated.

Donald Trump announces new travel restrictions

President Trump has sought to more aggressively address the coronavirus after weeks of confusion over his administration’s response, urging public calm and issuing new foreign travel warnings and restrictions. President Trump acknowledged the first death recorded in the United States in Washington State. Vice President Mike Pence said the administration was issuing its highest-level warning, a “do not travel” warning, to areas of Italy and South Korea most affected by the virus. The United States is also banning all travel to Iran and barring entry to any foreign citizen who has visited Iran in the past 14 days. There will also be screenings of travellers coming from Italy and South Korea.

It is a bioweapon or not?

Soon after the coronavirus outbreak, the news spread that the Chinese government had manufactured the outbreak afflicting people around the world.

The news got much attention after Senator Tom Cotton, Republican of Arkansas, raised the possibility that the virus had originated in a high-security biochemical lab in Wuhan. According to him, “We don’t have evidence that this disease originated there, but because of China’s duplicity and dishonesty from the beginning, we need to ask the question at least to see what the evidence says, and China right now is not giving evidence on that question at all.” The idea of the coronavirus as an escaped weapon has been carried through international news.

Well, as per the Chinese authorities say the outbreak began in a market in Wuhan where wild animals were sold. The city is also home to a biochemical laboratory.

Here are the precautions you can take to stay safe, check it out.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after sneezing and coughing.
  • Avoid touching your mouth, eyes, and nose with unwashed hands.
  • Make sure to cover your mouth and nose while sneezing.

  • Stay home if you feel sick.
  • Avoid shaking hands with people or going close to the person who has a cold.

Treatment for Coronavirus

There is no specific antiviral treatment at this moment for COVID-19. People suffering from COVID-19 should receive supportive care to help relieve symptoms. For severe cases, treatment should include care to support organ functions. People who think they may have been exposed to COVID-19 should contact their healthcare provider immediately.

What if you’ve returned from a coronavirus zone?

You don’t need to be afraid you’ve returned from any of the coronavirus zones unless you feel sick. Just because you’ve been to the virus zone doesn’t mean you’ll catch the virus. But, if you catch a cold or fever within a few days, then start wearing the mask and consult the doctor first. Isolate yourself for a few days until you feel good.
